  • Our work is focused in Rural latino and indigenous communities in Guatemala
    • 16.6 million people
    • 44.50% of the rural population lacks access to basic or safely managed sanitation facilities
    • 13.4%  of the rural population live below national poverty line

  • Community Health Representatives are called Health Promoters an initiative established by the Ministry of Health 
  • Brigade itineraries offered for only 7 day Medical Brigades & 8-9 days with additional  components
  • Gynecology is on a community-to-community basis
  • Clinics are run in community schools
  • Community volunteers facilitate intake, adult charla* and serve as runners and translators given the 3-way translation needed at times
  • Each brigade includes 1 cultural day
  • If brigade is empowered or scaled, the additional stations they get are: Dental (fillings), Vision, and a specialist defined by the in-country team
